Position Overview:
The MP Material’s Capital Projects team is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of a fast-paced greenfield construction project for a cutting-edge rare earth magnet manufacturing facility located in Fort Worth, Texas. Spanning approximately 1.5 million square feet, this multi-building campus will support administrative offices, advanced manufacturing processes, and warehousing. Reporting to the Program Manager, this high-impact role will oversee all phases of infrastructure, site development and facility construction, operating in a fast-paced 24/7 environment. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in civil, structural and architectural engineering paired with hands-on construction management experience in earthwork, utilities, permitting, and industrial-scale infrastructure delivery.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing project management processes, owning strategic and tactical delivery, and overseeing external contractors. The position requires significant interaction with design firms, EPC contractors, and internal stakeholders. Success is measured by safe execution, high-quality outcomes, on-time delivery, and budget adherence.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead all phases of greenfield site development, including design coordination, permitting, earthwork, utility installation, and vertical construction.
- Develop and implement robust project management frameworks tailored to rapid industrial construction.
- Manage engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities across multiple buildings
- Collaborate with design firms, EPC contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and budget
- Drive strategic decision-making and risk mitigation across all project phases
- Communicate project status and critical issues clearly and consistently across all levels of the organization
- Provide accurate project data to the Project Controls team for cost tracking and forecasting
- Review and guide requested changes to project scope for validity and impact, and ensure timely and cost sensitive incorporation once approved
- Maintain flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as needed to meet project milestones
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Construction Management
- 10+ years of experience in industrial or high-tech manufacturing construction, with a strong focus on greenfield projects
- 5+ years of direct project management experience in capital construction, including utilities, earthwork, and infrastructure.
- Proven ability to interpret and manage complex engineering documentation and construction drawings
- Ability to deal effectively and confidently with ambiguity, assess situations rapidly and take quick and appropriate action
- Industry knowledge in high tech manufacturing facilities
- Must be able to develop, understand and control cost estimates, budgets, actualized costs, forecasts, and schedules
- Familiarity with contract law and claims management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
- Proficient in industry standard tools for project management such as MS Project, Primavera P6, Ares Prism, or similar
- Experience with industry standard 2D and 3D CAD applications such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, or similar preferred
- Experience with permitting such as building and trade permits, air and waste permits, and certificates of occupancy
