The NextGen System Administrator is a key associate at Hope Network whose primary responsibilities include:
managing, maintaining, and optimizing the hosted NextGen Electronic Medical Record (EMR) environment, including Practice Management (PM), Behavioral Health (BH), and Therapy modules. This position ensures secure, compliant, and efficient operation of NextGen Managed Cloud Services, supporting clinical and administrative workflows, and collaborating with internal teams and external vendors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Serve as the primary point of contact for hosted NextGen environment support and enhancement requests.
- Provide input into user workflows, provisioning, credentialing, and access controls in accordance with HIPAA and HHS Security Rule policies.
- Work with clinical and operations leadership to prioritize, document and communicate NextGen changes.
- Oversee system configuration, upgrades, and maintenance for NextGen PM, BH, and Therapy modules.
- Coordinate with NextGen Hosting Project Manager and Engineering teams for environment setup, change requests, and system readiness sign-off.
- Coordinate testing with Application Support Team.
- Monitor system performance, conduct routine audits, and ensure licensing compliance.
- Support workflow standardization and optimization across service lines.
- Configure client-defined product settings, templates, forms, and charge screens for BH and Therapy modules.
- Facilitate training and competency tracking for superusers and end-users; support NextGen Certified Professional (NCP) exam registration.
- Ensure adherence to healthcare compliance standards, including HIPAA, HITECH, and organizational policies.
- Maintain documentation for setup guides, access protocols, and configuration workbooks.
- Communicate system updates, training schedules, and support procedures to stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, escalating to vendors as needed.
- Collaborate with Corporate Compliance to ensure regulatory alignment.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Health Informatics, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in EMR system administration, preferably with NextGen.
- General knowledge of EMR systems, healthcare compliance, and cloud-hosted environments.
- Experience supporting hosted/cloud-based healthcare applications.
- Familiarity with HIPAA Security Rule, HITECH Act, and healthcare IT compliance.
- Technical expertise in NextGen PM, BH, and Therapy modules preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
