Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and develop a team of Functional Academy Managers and Specialists, ensuring clarity of purpose, high engagement, and professional growth.
- Set clear goals, provide feedback and coaching, and ensure effective workload distribution across projects.
- Promote collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
- Contribute actively to HL Academy’s leadership goals, objectives and overall culture building
- Strategic Program Ownership
- Oversee the portfolio of learning programs across COO-CFO functional academy
- Ensure consistency, scalability, and alignment with business strategy and corporate learning standards.
- Steer content design and ensure quality, relevance, and learner impact across global initiatives.
- Stakeholder & Governance Alignment
- Collaborate closely with senior business and functional leaders, regional functional leaders, other leaders within HL Academy and HR leaders across HL to identify capability gaps and strategic learning needs.
- Represent the Functional Academy in cross-functional steering groups, projects, and governance boards.
- Manage relationships with external training partners, vendors, and consultants.
- Operational & Financial Oversight
- Plan and manage budgets, resources, and project timelines for the Academy’s portfolio.
- Oversee implementation of digital tools, LMS systems, and reporting dashboards to track progress and impact for the functional academy you are responsible for
- Impact & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure KPI monitoring and impact measurement of learning programs across all functional areas.
- Lead the refinement of learning frameworks based on data, feedback, and business priorities.
Qualifications
- University degree in business, HR development, education, or a related field.
- relevant years of professional experience in learning, capability development, or HR-related roles, including at least relevant years in a leadership capacity.
- Experience in the field of Liner Shipping/ Logistics operations and/or Finance functions would be desirable but not a must
- Proven experience managing complex learning portfolios in a global environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Deep understanding of instructional design and modern learning technologies.
- Strategic thinker with excellent organizational and decision-making skills.
- Fluent in English; other languages beneficial.
- Willingness to travel internationally (approx. 20–30%).
