Your mission:
An internship opportunity titled : "Technical lessons learned for propulsion certification" has just opened at Airbus Opérations SAS - Design Office, based in Toulouse, France.
You will join the department "Propulsion safety, airworthiness, certification and DOA".
This internship will consist in identifying key technical lessons learnt on the propulsion system during aircraft development & certification processes.
This study will cover all A/C programs which have been developed by Airbus.
The main goal of this exercise is to identify commonalities among those different programs and to propose recommendations to improve future projects.
Internship duration: 5 months starting in April 2026.
You will operate at the intersection of technical documentation, regulatory standards, and engineering:
Deep Technical Analysis: Dive into Certification Plans, Compliance Reports, and Means of Compliance documents from existing aircraft. You'll analyze technical operating methods to understand complex design assurance processes and regulatory requirements (e.g., EASA/FAA).
Systemic Feedback Synthesis: Synthesize major technical feedback and "lessons learned" from program closure data, translating technical issues into actionable recommendations for improvement.
Root Cause Identification: Actively identify systemic bottlenecks, redundancies, and weaknesses within current technical work methods for demonstrating compliance.
Digital Innovation Proposal: Champion innovative solutions to significantly enhance the efficiency and quality of certification processes. Your focus will be on digitalization, data-driven tools, and automation to manage complex certification evidence.Next-Gen Process Design: Contribute to the development of new, highly efficient work methods that ensure seamless technical compliance and align with evolving regulatory requirements (a direct contribution to future program architecture).
Your Boarding Pass:
You are in your final year of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering.
You possess the following competences:
Technical skills:
Basic knowledge of Propulsion Systems would be appreciated
Systems Engineering: Strong aptitude for systems thinking, process mapping, or lean principles (Six Sigma/Lean training is a bonus).
Data & Digital: Proficient with data analysis tools and a keen interest in applying digital solutions (e.g.basic coding, or automation concepts) to streamline complex workflows. Proficiency in Google Suite
Structured Analysis: demonstrating the ability to structure and execute a methodical, long-term project or technical investigation.
Academic Discipline: Currently pursuing a degree in Aerospace, Industrial, Systems, or Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
Soft Skills:
Clarity: The ability to translate complex technical findings into clear, impactful communications for both technical teams and leaders.
Self-Driven: High level of autonomy and initiative to manage this critical project from start to finish.
Language skills:
Negotiation level of English
