Fuel Point Assistant – Waurn Ponds

  • Yard based position 

  • Fulltime, 12-month fixed term contract / secondment 

  • Permanent night shifts 1800-0200

About the role
Joining the team on a 12-month fixed contract as the Fuel Point Assistant, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Operational Group. 
You will support the Waurn Ponds depot with occasional site support at Geelong working towards an ongoing fuelling schedule to ensure all Rolling Stock/ Trains are fuelled within time and roster.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Fuelling of V/Line rolling stock as required.

  • Attention to detail; working through scheduling plans and movements in yard. 

  • Washing V/Line windscreens during fuelling operations and upkeep of clearing stock control

  • Building collaborative networks with internal and external customers. 

  • Administration tasks include logging fuel intake and scheduling

  • Clear communications, collaborating with maintenance support partners

  • Attention to detail; working through scheduling plans and movements in yard. 

 

About you
You will possess a willingness to work outdoors, available to commit to nightshift roster with travel to Geelong depot required on occasion.
14-day roster; Permanent night shifts 1800-0200, reflective of a 6-person rotation; overtime will be paid in accordance with the EA agreement. 
 

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Completion of Year 12 or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training. 
  • A Valid Driver’s Licence
  • Previous scheduling experience in a yard-based environment
  • Flexibility to work afternoon/night shifts on a rotating roster, including public holidays and weekends. 
  • Physically fit to carry out tasks

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2023 or Asset Management Enterprise Agreement 2023
