About the role
Join the Waste & Cleansing team as Manager Waste Services, where you'll lead the delivery of high-quality waste operations and drive service excellence across Parramatta’s diverse community.
On a daily basis you will:
- Manage domestic, commercial, and event waste services, including illegal dumping and recycling programs
- Lead and support a team of professionals to meet operational goals and service standards
- Manage illegal dumping education and enforcement including assisting in legal proceedings when required
- Oversee contracts, budgets, and KPIs to ensure efficient and cost-effective waste service delivery
- Provide expert advice on waste compliance, enforcement, and community education initiatives
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to improve service outcomes and customer satisfaction
About you
You are a hands-on leader with deep operational expertise and a commitment to delivering reliable, customer-focused services.
You will also bring:
- Extensive experience in waste or asset management, including contractor and workforce oversight
- Strong background in managing illegal dumping enforcement and compliance
- Proven ability to deliver environmental sustainability and community education programs
- High-level communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience leading complex projects and driving operational improvements
- Local Government experience (desirable)
Qualifications
- Degree in Environmental Science, Operations Management, or a related discipline
- Current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence

This is a permanent opportunity.
We are offering an attractive remuneration from $ 153,911.34 to $ $170,614.86 plus 12% superannuation.
Participation in Council’s Motor Vehicle Scheme will be discussed with the successful applicant.
