Maverick’s team includes underwriting, risk management, compliance & legal, technology & product development, on-boarding, customer support, information technology, and more.
About the Position:
Under the direction of the Vice President, Risk and Underwriting, and the Director of Underwriting, the Underwriting Analyst, II is responsible for underwriting merchant accounts, verifying / validating merchant data and determining preliminary or final merchant account approval. The Underwriting Department is responsible for the underwriting merchant applications, proper execution and due diligence associated with routine verification and validation of merchant data (KYC / KYB).
- Collecting, reviewing and analyzing a merchant applicant’s relevant history and records and obtaining additional information to determine suitability as needed.
- Determining the level of risk and security needed for approval.
- Offering recommendations on whether to approve an application.
- Communicating and coordinating with outside agents regarding merchant applications.
- Working and responding to tickets or other requests from customers, partners and internal Company personnel.
- Collecting data for reporting purposes.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 3-5 years of payment industry experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft products including Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to analyze, test, assess and / or interpret information or data to make recommendations to enhance business operations.

- Ability to prioritize tasks as priorities shift.
- Possess strong analytical and research skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously while producing a high output of quality work.
