We are a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate CAD Drafter/Designer. This position reports to the Engineering Documentation Manager and will work in Pompano Beach, FL.

As CAD Drafter/Designer within the Pompano team, you will be involved in preparing assembly and detail drawings following general instruction and directions of an engineer.  This includes preparing and maintaining weldment drawings, installation drawings, piping drawings, wiring schematics, etc., while keeping track of drawing revisions.  You will also assist marketing, sales, and manufacturing associates in the design and layout of submittal drawings.

General Responsibilities

  • Provide production support drawings in a timely fashion as dictated by workload.
  • Maintain drawing files in their proper sequence and order so that all drawings will be available when needed.
  • Assist manufacturing with interpretation of drawings.
  • Responsible for creating complex models, layouts, drawings, and sketches using SolidWorks.
  • Solidworks PDM vault knowledge and understanding
  • Develop and maintain orthographic or isometric illustrations.
  • Assist with CNC programming as required.
  • Assist with electrical wiring diagrams, layouts, assembly and detail drawings utilizing CAD software for documentation of all existing, new or improved products with Engineering support.
  • Directly responsible for correct documentation routing of manufacturing drawings.
  • Maintain all necessary drafting supplies.
  • Administering the Document Change Request (DCR) process.
  • Work to all current ISO processes and procedures.
  • Recommend improvements to the ISO processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate for this role will bring demonstrated success in an operational and manufacturing environment. Additionally, they will have acquired the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) to two (2) years’ college or trade school education in mechanical drawing and related areas.
  • Well-rounded, practical experience may be substituted for formal training.
  • Minimum one (1) year on the job experience.
  • Profound technical experience and knowledge of SolidWorks
  • Programming in Auto Lisp (AutoCAD software) and working knowledge of visual tablet is helpful.
  • CNC programming, or BySoft7 software knowledge beneficial.
  • ISO standards understanding and experience is advantageous.
