About Our Opportunity 

We are seeking a Production Lead for our Louisville manufacturing facility. The Production Lead works with the shift supervisor to provide any assistance needed on the production floor. Each lead is responsible for overseeing the activities of the production floor employees within the area they are assigned to and provide assistance when needed. The Production Lead will assist Production with a variety of duties including but not limited to Standards execution (CIL, Centerline, Defect Handling, 6s) the timely handling raw materials, changeovers, and quality. This position will be responsible for improving assisting in the efficiency of the entire cell performance of shift, employee safety, and the production of good quality products to meet production goals. In the absence of the shift supervisor, the lead will oversee all the shift supervisor’s responsibilities other than issue disciplinary progression.

Responsibilities 

• Assist in setup up daily staffing.
• Generate and oversee the break schedule
• Assign a track tool-bag allocation for all Machine Operators
• Assist in completing job changes and lines clearing process
• Provide assistance to Machine Operator and Packers when needed
• Provide assistance in baling when needed
• Provide assistance in material handling when needed
• Reviews change status report at the beginning of the shift and develops plan for execution
• Works with the shift supervisor to generate all end shift reporting
• Fill in for a Machine Operator or Packer when required due to labor shortage
• Responsible for supporting and coaching.
• Make sure machines run as efficiently as possible
• Actively aware of machines’ performance so adjustments can be made to maintain or improve quality and productivity
• Responsible for monitoring quality, Safety and 6s Standards
• Responsible for cleanliness and organization of Production area for shift. Owns and drives 6S standards
• Assist in monitoring safety of shift personnel. If there is a hazard or something in need of repair notify Supervisor and Maintenance
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications 

• High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma 
• Two years in a manufacturing environment in a similar role
• Good mechanical abilities
• Basic mathematical skills
• Basic computer skills 
• Knowledge and enforcement of machine safety, i.e., lock-out/tagout procedures, hand tool safety, etc.
• Must maintain a clean workspace.
• Detail orientated and focused
• Promote safe work environment and follow safety requirements
• Ability to understand and promote policies and procedures
• Knowledge of raw materials, production process, and quality control
• Detail orientated and focused
