he Material Handler is responsible for safely and efficiently handling, moving, and storing materials, tools, and equipment within an industrial environment. This role supports daily operations by ensuring the timely delivery of materials to production areas and maintaining accurate inventory records.


Key Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and move materials within or near plant, yard, or work site using forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, or other equipment.

  • Verify and record incoming and outgoing shipments; check materials against purchase orders or delivery tickets.

  • Stage, label, and organize materials for job assignments or work orders.

  • Deliver materials and supplies to production areas as requested.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas and work zones.

  • Perform routine inspections of handling equipment (forklifts, hoists, etc.) to ensure proper working condition.

  • Follow company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA regulations at all times.

  • Assist with inventory counts, tracking material usage, and reporting discrepancies.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, production teams, and logistics personnel.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • 1–3 years of experience in material handling, warehouse, or industrial operations preferred.

  • Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain).

  • Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, work orders, and safety procedures.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in industrial environments (indoor/outdoor, varying temperatures).


Work Environment

  • Industrial, manufacturing, or construction site environment.

  • May involve standing, walking, and operating equipment for extended periods.

  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).


Typical Schedule

  • Full-time; may require overtime, weekend, or shift work depending on operational needs.
