Amca is building airplanes for the 21st century, starting by designing new hardware that flies on today’s planes. Aviation was once humanity’s boldest ambition, but the industry hasn’t successfully built a new plane in 40 years. We don’t think it has to be this way.

Overview

You’ll design, prototype, and test aerospace electronics while developing a deep understanding of how electrical systems integrate into flight hardware.

What You’ll Do

  • Contribute to the design and prototyping of new electrical hardware

  • Assist in creating schematics, performing circuit analyses, and selecting components for aerospace applications

  • Support prototype bring-up and early-revision hardware testing

  • Participate in bench testing, debugging, and iterative design refinement

  • Work with test engineering to define and execute qualification plans, including functional and environmental testing

  • Collaborate with build engineers to ensure manufacturability and incorporate DFM feedback

  • Help manage drawings, BOMs, and part configurations according to aerospace standards

  • Evaluate Amca’s electrical product catalog and identify opportunities for new hardware development

Who You Are

  • Exceptionally curious and eager to learn—comfortable taking ownership of small projects

  • Hands-on and practical, with a passion for building, testing, and troubleshooting

  • Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals and first-principles thinking

  • Familiar with schematic capture, PCB layout, and basic circuit simulation

  • Comfortable using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers

  • Independent, resourceful, and creative in solving open-ended engineering problems

Plus

  • Prior experience designing or testing electronics for aerospace, automotive, or robotics applications

  • Familiarity with DO-160, MIL-STD, or similar qualification frameworks

  • Experience with firmware development or embedded systems
