Job Summary:
We are looking for a licensed Senior Mechanical or Chemical Engineer to lead as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in our Nashville, TN office! The position will be within our Industrial Power and Process division with a primary focus on large scale industrial process driven programs with our heavily diversified client base. The role will also include client executive functions, business development, business strategizing and planning, recruitment of technical staff support, marketing, and technical leadership duties.

 

Core Competencies:

  • Experienced in design of mechanical and chemical processes, hazardous analysis, building mechanical systems, development of site and facility arrangements, and general process or industrial facility projects. 
  • Experienced in the development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
  • Able to perform high-complexity engineering designs included analysis, calculations, research, and equipment selection.
  • Experienced in the development of drawing and specification packages for the execution of both Design Build and Design-Bid-Build project styles. 
  • As a SME, support technical engineering staff on projects to assure project confirms to the commitments related to time, quality, and cost. Deal directly with client to establish early project and program development and expectations.  Support QA/QC functions of high profile projects as needed.
  • Engage with mechanical and chemical engineering staff in the execution of projects from a technical perspective to align with the goals of the projects.   
  • Be familiar with and apply applicable codes.
  • Supplement ICT design standards and administrative procedures where needed.
  • Assist team leaders and divisional director in understanding technical capabilities of current staff and building business cases for new role requisitions.
  • Assist team leaders and divisional director in maintaining and developing client base through various business development efforts.
  • Assist market segment director and team leaders in preparation of RFP type proposal responses including project write ups, resumes, fee developments.
  • Take an active lead in proposal for work process. Identify prospective clients and work in conjunction with team leaders to establish relationship with those clients.
  • Identify new opportunities that may have synergistic benefit with our existing business
  • Act as Engineer of Record on certain projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Fifteen (15) or more years of relevant experience.
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from ABET accredited school.
  • Professional Engineers (PE) license.
  • Must have Project Management experience.
  • Must have Business Development experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies related to Process Engineering.
  • Knowledge of project approach and system design.
  • Willingness to build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Willingness to engage technical engineering staff and be a technical leader for an entire market segment/division.
