Communication Consultant (Employee Communications)

 

Are you ready to make an impact in a dynamic healthcare environment? Orlando Health is seeking an internal communications consultant to join our talented team of writers. In this role, you’ll help craft clear, compelling messages that connect and engage more than 41,000 team members across our organization. As part of the Internal Communications team, you’ll play a key role in change management — developing messages, executive communications and engaging videos that reflect our mission, strategic imperatives and organizational priorities.

 

Reporting to the manager of internal communications, you’ll support key initiatives, including our organization-wide newsletter. This role requires a highly skilled communicator with a proven ability to write clear, accurate, concise and compelling messages. This is a full-time, primarily in-office role with potential for work-from-home flexibility. The work location is based at Orlando Health’s downtown Orlando campus.

 

Writing samples will be requested from candidates.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Write and edit complex messages for various internal channels, including electronic newsletters, intranet news center, and video or presentation scripts.
  • Design deliverables that reflect and support Orlando Health’s mission and business objectives, while adhering to the organization’s brand voice and writing guidelines.
  • Meet directly with stakeholders to develop targeted communication plans for projects and initiatives, maintaining confidentiality as required.
  • Serve as a communication liaison with other departments and teams for specific projects, programs and initiatives.
  • Coordinate and facilitate special programs, projects and initiatives at the direction of the manager of Internal Communications.
  • Represent the department at meetings as requested, determine appropriate actions, and assume appropriate responsibilities.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal business partners and external associates.
  • Exercise sound cost-control measures for all projects and initiatives.
  • Assist in assessing the effectiveness of communication in meeting objectives.
  • Stay informed on emerging communication trends, developments and technologies.
  • Share communication best practices with appropriate internal audiences.
  • Serve as a content manager for the organization’s intranet.
  • Develop and implement operational goals, objectives and systems as appropriate.
  • Take responsibility for ongoing professional development.

 

Education/Training

A bachelor’s degree is required.

 

Experience

  • Five (5) years of experience in a related field, including marketing or communications. A master’s degree in communications, business, healthcare, or a related field may substitute for up to two (2) years of the required experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated record of consistent excellence in communication skills, both verbal and written.
