We’re seeking a motivated Entry Level Machinist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands on mechanical work, learning traditional machining skills, and contributing to repair and fabrication projects. You’ll work with a variety of manual machines and materials.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate and maintain manual machine tools including horizontal mills, knee mills, and horizontal lathes
- Perform repair machining and fabrication work on parts, tooling, and fixtures
- Assist with grinding, welding, and fitting operations on repair jobs
- Work with cast iron and larger weldments, including grinding out cracks and prepping surfaces for weld repair
- Measure, inspect, and verify parts for accuracy and quality
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic experience or training in manual machining (school, shop class, or hands-on experience)
- Familiarity with welding and basic fabrication practices (MIG or stick welding preferred)
- Ability to read basic blueprints or mechanical drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Reliable, safety conscious, and detail-oriented
