Identifies and cultivates relationships with priority donors and prospects, develops and implements fundraising plans, and works collaboratively with other staff to meet predetermined fundraising goals.

Job Description:

Under general supervision, will perform work of considerable complexity to support development initiatives in stewarding donors for the investments they have made and inspiring donors to make future investments. The coordinator will implement and oversee projects that demonstrate the impact of donor investments/scholarships and recognize donors for their philanthropy. Supports and maintains a variety of reports, donor communication pieces, stewardship plans, scholarship criteria, and other projects as required.
 

Essential Duties:

  • Coordinates and prepares compelling reports for donors demonstrating the impact of their philanthropic support

  • Manages the gift acknowledgement process that ensures timely and meaningful recognition of gifts received

  • Executes and manages donor engagement events – for example: FSE Hall of Fame, Donor Appreciation Breakfast and other events in partnership with gift officers

  • Helps frontline fundraising team with donor requests, information gathering, and other donor-related needs

  • Demonstrates knowledge of donor relations and acts as the main engineering development liaison to the donor relations team at the ASU Foundation

  • Updates stewardship, engagement, and recognition actions in Salesforce database

  • Improves existing processes related to donor relations and operations for the development team

  • Works in partnership with the assistant director of scholarships on scholarship stewardship activities and communications

  • Builds strong internal and external relationships to effectively perform job duties and can adapt communication style when needed

  • Supervises the administrative specialist and provides general operational support for the development team

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a fundraising environment 

  • Experience with Salesforce or Raiser’s Edge and Aventri databases 

  • Experience planning and executing events 

  • Experience with organization and multi-tasking abilities

  • Experience with customer service at different levels 

  • Experience with supervising direct reports

  • Evidence of strong communication skills both verbal and written 

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) 

  • Experience using independent judgment to make decisions within the scope of the position

Working Environment:

Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended period of sitting. The position requires visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer and requires bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds. Ability to communicate effectively to perform necessary functions. Work both independently and collaboratively and within a complex structured team. Work from general instruction on standard job duties and specific directions/instructions on new assignments.
