Surgery Scheduler, Full Time chez Unity Health

1. Education:  Minimum of high school diploma or GED required.  An associates degree in healthcare administration is preferred.  

2. Training and Experience:  Computer word processing skills and knowledge of medical terminology required.  Good communication skills, both written and oral, are essential.

3. Job Requirements:  Basic knowledge of healthcare system, medical terminology and good grammar and composition skills required.

DESCRIPTION:

Facilitates efficient scheduling for surgical procedures performed in the hospital.  Schedules all surgical procedures and assures that all of the appropriate clinical and insurance information is collected.  Receives request to schedule procedures from the physicians office and schedules according to established guidelines.  Acts as a liaison between the doctor's office, clinic, etc., and the hospital.  Demonstrates discretion protecting the confidentiality of patient information at all times.
