In this role, you’ll be a vital bridge between technology and student success — configuring systems, training users, and leading process improvements that help advisors, faculty, and students plan with confidence. You’ll serve as a subject matter expert and a partner across departments, ensuring our technology supports The River’s mission of empowering every learner to rise higher.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the College’s expert for Degree Works, overseeing scribing, audit worksheet functionality, exceptions, petitions, waivers, and analytical tools.
Configure, test, and maintain the system based on academic and operational requirements.
Develop, update, and maintain scribe blocks for all academic programs, majors, minors, and concentrations.
Lead training sessions and workshops to ensure faculty and staff can confidently use and maintain Degree Works.
Collaborate with academic and IT teams to review processes, document requirements, and implement best practices.
Support the implementation and configuration of new Degree Works features and modules.
Participate in data migration, validation, and cleanup projects to ensure system accuracy and consistency.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical or functional issues, escalating to Ellucian support when needed.
Create and maintain documentation and reports for ongoing system health and user support.
Stay informed about emerging technologies and tools that enhance academic systems and efficiency.
Contribute to cross-campus initiatives focused on student success, retention, and academic planning.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Education, or a related field.
Minimum three (3) years of hands-on experience with Degree Works, including scribing and system administration.
Experience with Ellucian Degree Works implementation or deployment.
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Banner) and CRM platforms.
Working knowledge of SQL and data reporting tools (preferred).
Experience with cloud-based systems and data integrations (preferred).
Ability to understand programming logic or languages (preferred).
Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Commitment to customer service, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required during system upgrades or audits.
