POSITION OVERVIEW

The Service Division Manager is responsible for the full operational oversight of the company’s Service Division, which includes Truck Shop, Field Petroleum Service, Propane Service, Aviation Fuel Support, and Mobile Mechanics. This individual ensures that all service work is executed efficiently, safely, and profitably. The role requires strong leadership, organization, and communication to manage personnel, customer expectations, inventory, and job tracking across multiple disciplines.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Team Leadership & Workforce Management

  • Lead and manage all technicians, lead techs, and supervisors across all service sub-divisions
  • Oversee technician scheduling, time tracking, and labor cost management
  • Ensure clear communication between field teams, office personnel, and leadership
  • Conduct performance reviews and support staff development and training

Operational Oversight

  • Maintain day-to-day operations across the Truck Shop, Petroleum Field Service, Propane, and Aviation Fuel units
  • Monitor job progress, resolve field issues, and sign off on completed work
  • Ensure full compliance with SOPs, safety policies, and industry regulations
  • Work closely with dispatch and service coordinators to balance workload

Financial & Performance Management

  • Monitor labor efficiency, job profitability, and billable hours
  • Approve payroll entries, manage overtime, and ensure labor stays within budget
  • Track division-level KPIs, rework rates, and safety metrics
  • Participate in quarterly and annual budget planning

Inventory & Equipment Coordination

  • Oversee inventory levels, parts ordering, and tool availability for all teams
  • Ensure mobile units and service trucks are properly stocked and maintained

Customer Relations & Communication

  • Support customer service by resolving escalated issues
  • Help maintain a professional image for all field and in-house teams
  • Communicate delays, completions, and material needs as needed with clients and internal stakeholders

Qualifications


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in service management, fleet maintenance, or industrial field operations
  • Prior experience overseeing multi-discipline teams preferred (e.g., mechanics, field techs, fuel/propane services)
  • Proficient in job tracking software, time management systems, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, service-driven environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
