Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Demo Fleet and Equipment Management
- Manage demo fleet operations, including storage, maintenance, trickle charging, and cleaning of units.
- Refurbish demo fleet batteries through cycling, capacity testing, decay analysis, end-of-line testing, and replacement of cables and components.
- Perform inventory management of spare parts and testing equipment, equipment calibration, and basic repairs as needed.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces to support efficient operations.
- Testing and Engineering Support
- Support battery approval testing, including in-vehicle and bench testing.
- Provide general testing assistance, such as software testing, bench testing, electrical circuit assessments, and data collection.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on prototype development, field testing, and documentation of test results.
- Assist in tearing down batteries for failure mode analysis and support prototype harness building.
- Build prototype wiring harnesses for battery systems and testing setups, including crimping, soldering, routing cables, and verifying electrical continuity and insulation.
- Field support, Installation and Issue Resolution
- Travel to customer sites to support installations, commissioning, and integration of battery systems.
- Conduct site surveys to evaluate customer environments and equipment readiness.
- Support on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and resolution of technical issues with battery systems and related equipment.
- Gather and report feedback on product performance to internal teams for continuous improvement.
- 2+ years of relevant hands-on experience, preferably in battery systems, electrical diagnostics, or material handling equipment (MHE).
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related technical field; or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel up to 50% with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of hand and power tools, electrical systems, and safety procedures.
This is a full-time position with an expected 50% travel time. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. The role involves customer-facing interactions during travel but is primarily focused on supporting internal engineering teams on a day-to-day basis.
