Position: Supervisor of English Language Arts / English as a Second Language (ELA/ESL)

Holmdel Township School District is seeking an experienced, innovative, and collaborative educational
leader to serve as K-12 Supervisor of English Language Arts (ELA) and English as a Second Language
(ESL).
The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of early and balanced literacy and a proven ability to
lead teachers in implementing high-quality, research-based literacy instruction across all grade levels.
This individual will play a critical role in ensuring that students develop strong foundational literacy skills
and that instruction reflects a coherent, vertically aligned approach to reading, writing, speaking, and
listening.
The successful candidate will oversee the district’s ELA and ESL programs, utilize data-driven decision-
making, provide leadership in program evaluation, curriculum development, instructional best practices,
assessment, and deliver relevant professional development. A strong background in early literacy and
multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) at the elementary level is essential, as the position includes
ensuring effective tiered literacy interventions and targeted instructional planning.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting high-quality curriculum, instruction, and assessment in ELA/ ESL
- Promoting and modeling best practices in balanced literacy instruction and intervention
- Coaching and developing teachers through ongoing, job-embedded professional learning
- Supporting the implementation of MTSS and evidence-based literacy interventions
- Monitoring student performance data to inform instruction and intervention strategies
- Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations related to ESL programming
Salary Range: $115,000 - $125,000
