Your Role
The Accounting Assistant plays a key role in the firm’s daily financial operations, including billing, accounts payable, and vendor payment. The ideal candidate is willing to jump in when needed to assist with overflow in billing, accounts payable, collections, and has a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to maintaining smooth and accurate accounting processes, and the ability to maintain professional communications with legal and accounting teams.
Position reports to: Management
Primary Responsibilities
- Works with Legal and Accounting Teams to gather, identify, and enter legal costs and expenses
- Pro-actively tracks and enters vendor payments
- Collaborates with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies promptly
- Assists with expense reimbursements, credit card reconciliations, and vendor payments
- Provides general administration and accounting support to the Accounting Manager and broader accounting team
Requirements
- Education: Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience: 1-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (law firm or professional services experience preferred)
- Familiarity with Legal office accounting practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office suite of programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly
Not Requirements, but nice to have
- Legal billing experience
- Collections experience
- Account reconciliation

Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting Pay: $26-28/hour - based on experience
