Middle and High school level students including GED prep
Hours: Flexible Scheduling – School Day, Afternoons, Evenings, Weekends
About the Opportunity
Are you passionate about helping students reach their full academic potential? We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Tutor to provide individualized instruction and academic support across multiple subject areas - with emphasis on Social Studies and English, as well as Math and Science. This position is ideal for educators, substitute teachers, or experienced tutors who excel in differentiated instruction and enjoy motivating learners of all abilities.
What You'll Generally Do
- Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring tailored to each student's learning style and academic goals.
- Reinforce key skills, study strategies, and test preparation techniques.
- Assist with coursework aligned to Regents and other state academic standards.
- Use engaging teaching methods and technology (e.g., Smart Boards, online platforms, interactive tools) to enhance learning.
- Communicate with teachers and coordinator as needed to support student progress.
Preferred Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher Education or related field
- Experience teaching or tutoring across multiple grade levels
- Familiarity with Regents requirements and New York State curriculum standards.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Experience working with diverse learners, including special education students.
- Reliable, organized, and passionate about helping students succeed.
