YOUR ROLE:

 

The Trade Marketing Manager Travel Retail will be responsible for developing and executing trade marketing strategies within the Travel Retail channel, with a specific focus on the UK market. The role requires expertise in managing multiple brands, including licensed brands, to enhance visibility, customer engagement, and sales performance. The candidate should have about 3 years of experience in trade marketing, customer management, and execution of brand strategies in a retail and/or wholesale environment.

 

 

Main responsibilities:

Trade Marketing Strategy & Execution:

  • Develop and implement trade marketing plans to maximize brand visibility and commercial success across key UK Travel Retail locations.
  • Design and execute point-of-sale (POS) activations, merchandising solutions, and promotional campaigns tailored to the UK travel retail channel.
  • Ensure brand consistency and alignment with global marketing guidelines while adapting strategies to specific UK market needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., marketing, sales, and supply chain) to ensure seamless execution of trade marketing initiatives.

Customer & Channel Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key UK travel retail operators, local vendors, and duty-free partners.
  • Develop customer-specific trade marketing strategies to support sell-in and sell-out objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze customer insights, category trends, and competitive landscape specific to identify growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate with distributors and partners to ensure smooth implementation of marketing initiatives.

Brand & Portfolio Management:

  • Manage and promote multiple brands, including license brands, ensuring the correct positioning in the UK travel retail environment.
  • Develop and execute marketing activations and promotional campaigns to enhance consumer engagement within UK airports and travel hubs.
  • Work closely with the brand marketing team to adapt global marketing campaigns for the UK Travel Retail market.

Performance Analysis & Reporting:

  • Track, analyze, and report on trade marketing effectiveness, including ROI on promotions, sell-through rates, and customer engagement metrics, with a focus on UK-specific data.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement based on UK market data and customer feedback.
  • Manage trade marketing budgets, ensuring cost-effective execution of initiatives within the UK.

 

 

Main requirements:

  • About 3 years of experience in trade marketing, brand management, or sales within the UK Travel Retail sector or luxury, or consumer goods industries.
  • Strong experience in managing multiple brands, including licensed brands.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement specific channel marketing strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate insights tailored to specific competitive arena.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to build relationships with retailers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint); experience with data analysis tools is a plus.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages (e.g., French, Spanish) are a plus.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Knowledge of UK airport retail dynamics and shopper behavior.
  • Passion for the travel retail industry and/or luxury industry.
