The Housing Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of day-to-day operations of the Housing program, both on campus and in the field. Will work, in conjunction with Social Services Director, to coordinate all aspects of voucher programs, including Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) in accordance with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) or other funding guidelines. Will be responsible for training and supervising Housing Navigators and ensuring housing resources are current.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all Housing Program activities to ensure ongoing compliance with HUD, Continuum of Care (CoC) and all other funding guidelines
- Ensure all required documentation is obtained and maintained in client files in accordance with guidelines
- In conjunction with Social Services Director, maintain and develop landlord relationships to increase housing options.
- Facilitate successful completion of initial inspection, prior to client move-in and annual inspections
- Facilitate and follow up to ensure timely repairs by the landlord, work closely with Community Support Workers (CSW) and Community Health Workers (CHW) to address landlord/client issues including evictions, move outs and move in
- Facilitate lease signings and ensure staff is in attendance
- Ensure all appropriate data is available for quarterly and annual reports
- Ensure community resources for housing programs is complete and current
- Ensure that Housing Navigators are accurately completing all housing applications, to include but not limited to HUD voucher programs, Section 8, Rapid Re-housing.
- Provide training, support, performance review, coaching, and professional development to the Housing Navigation staff
- Ensure all staff are trained on field safety protocols
- Represent AHCH in meetings and trainings with community partners
- Ensure quality and compliance (including HIPAA) of all housing activities
- Work in an integrated manner with all AHCH departments to ensure access to wrap-around services for AHCH clients
- Track program budget in conjunction with Social Services Director
- Will attend Program Review Committee meetings
- Will attend Manager/Coordinators meetings
- Must comply with all AHCH policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with peers to lead change, high performance, and innovation
- Must have ability to analyze data and effectively communicate impact of data to AHCH leadership and staff
- High level of organization and adherence to deadlines
- Ability to work in an integrated manner with all levels of organizational staff
- Ability to network with community partners to identify and access resources
- Knowledge of community housing resources
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of experience working with underserved populations
- 2 years experience with a housing program
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Behavioral Health, or relevant field or commensurate relevant work experience
- 2 years of leadership/supervisory experience with a housing program
- HQS Certification
- Familiarity with HUD requirements for PSH
- Previous experience working with persons with serious mental illness and/or substance use.
- Bilingual Spanish/English
