Truett Seminary at Baylor University seeks applicants for a faculty appointment (associate or full professor, tenured or tenure-track) as the Lampsato Chair in Baptist World Missional Engagement and Director of the Baptist World Alliance Program. The person in this position will do research and teach in the areas of Baptist History, Polity, Theology, and/or Witness. This position requires residence within range of the Waco campus and cannot be performed remotely.

The selected candidate will be expected to initiate and conduct research, as well as perform academic duties associated with our graduate programs. The primary responsibilities are teaching courses, directing the Baptist program, representing the seminary to Baptist constituents, and guiding graduate students in vocation call and discernment. Active participation in departmental service is also expected.

Candidates should have administrative experience and the ability to interface with Baptist constituents worldwide. Candidates should have a research agenda and the ability to publish. Candidates should have the capacity to teach courses in the areas of Baptist History, Polity, Theology, and/or Witness. About Truett Seminary: Baylor University’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary exists to equip God-called people for gospel ministry in and alongside Christ’s Church by the power of the Holy Spirit. ·       Candidates must possess an earned research doctorate, such as a Ph.D., Th.D., or Ed.D., in an appropriate field of study no later than December 31, 2025.

·       Preference will be given to those with a M.Div.

·       Prior classroom and ministry experience will be valued highly.

·       Candidates must be committed to the Baptist tradition with evidence of active involvement in Baptist church life.
