We are seeking an experienced Software & Systems Engineer, Senior to provide senior-level software engineering, programming, and systems engineering support to assigned contracts and task orders in support of government customers. This role involves developing and maintaining advanced simulation tools, performing modeling and analysis, supporting system design and evaluation, and ensuring successful program execution through collaboration with government leads, prime contractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead programming assignments using advanced knowledge of established programming procedures and data processing requirements. Maintain data integrity and optimize code for distributive and/or parallel processing.
Develop, execute, and modify models and simulations (all-digital and HWIL) to support analysis, system qualification, and technology evaluation.
Design and implement complex software in C++ from scratch, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and maintainability.
Apply strong mathematical and analytical skills, including those required for SLOS (Synthetic Line-of-Sight) calculations and other advanced modeling tasks.
Support engineering tasks such as plans, investigations, equipment design and development, testing of materials, and process studies.
Apply subject matter expertise in aerodynamics and/or electrical engineering to support modeling, simulation, and system framework development, ensuring interoperability, integration, and mission success.
Identify critical program information and apply system security engineering measures to mitigate risk.
Work closely with government leads, participate in IPTs and working groups, and collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, technicians, and analysts.
Evaluate objectives and assignments, select appropriate engineering and programming techniques, and demonstrate sound judgment in adapting solutions.
Prepare and present technical reports, briefings, and documentation to senior leadership.
Meet deadlines, ensure compliance standards are met, and deliver quality results aligned with customer expectations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications & Education Requirements and Desired Skillsets
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or Aerospace), Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
8-10 years of experience in software engineering, modeling & simulation, or systems engineering.
Expertise in C++ programming, with demonstrated ability to code complex systems from scratch.
Strong background in mathematics, with ability to apply advanced concepts in simulation and system modeling.
Experience with SLOS (Synthetic Line-of-Sight) analysis and related mathematical applications.
Educational background in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field strongly preferred.
Knowledge of aerodynamics and related physics is highly desirable.
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and interface with government and contractor stakeholders.
U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret Security clearance and ability to maintain the designated security clearance level is required.
Physical Description
Employees in these positions will function in a general office/cubicle setting environment, and laboratory/testing setting using standard office equipment and various electronic testing equipment, including a computer, telephone, printers, video equipment, computer software and testing equipment. Will interact in a general office setting environment with various personnel; participate in meetings and contribute to team success; deliver timely results and produce reports; receive and communicate information; may include telework. May function in a specialized laboratory/testing environment using electronic testing equipment, computer software and complex systems. May move and test equipment of various weights. Laboratory environment may require use of protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to safety glasses and protective hearing and footwear. May be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization due to business demands; travel occasionally for assigned work.
