Job Summary
Responsible for safely maintaining all mine equipment, receiving and executing work requests for preventative and predictive maintenance, maintain and repair equipment as needed. Required to understand operating processes and flow of the mining facilities. Assist in SOP and maintenance plan development and modifications as needed.
Key Accountabilities
- Assigned maintenance needs to be completed as effective and efficient repairs.
- Assigned preventative maintenance work as routine for plant equipment.
- Identify and solve problems, develop and select actions with minimal supervision.
- Operate equipment, such as rough terrain forklifts and man lifts for maintenance repairs.
- Operating knowledge of lockout tag out procedure, per company policy.
- Participates in materials inventories for maintenance work and supplies.
- Supports in the scheduling of preventative maintenance activities.
- Plans and performs all work in compliance with MSHA and OSHA regulatory requirements.
- Incoming and outgoing shipments and correspondence.
- Follows safety and environmental rules, procedures and regulations.
- Must be available for overtime, weekend duty, evening or night call-outs as needed.
- Performs special projects and job-related duties as assigned.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times, including the ability to recognize saturations in which confidentiality is required.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with company managers, coworkers, clients, contractors, vendors and the public.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent and at least two years of maintenance experience.
- Background in working with electrical and equipment in an industrial field.
- Strong mechanical ability with experience in powered transmissions.
- Knowledge of industrial mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience with welding/ fabrication.
- Must pass pre-employment drug test, and will be subject to random, for-cause, and post-accident drug testing, in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable under the Company’s vehicle insurance policy.
- Must pass criminal history background check.
- Must pass fit for duty physical.
- Ability to communicate clearly and accurately in oral and written format.
- Ability to read and understand procedural and safety manuals.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks and projects in a timely manner.
- Must be able to work independently, with minimum supervision.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
Physical Demands
- Frequently lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 lbs. and occasionally lifting a maximum of 75 lbs. may be required.
- Lifting and carrying consists of various parts, materials, equipment, and similar from ground level to shoulder height.
- Position requires more than 8 hours, per shift 12 hour shift, of sitting, when operating equipment, and standing and walking, while not operating equipment.
- Work involves frequent bending, twisting climbing, pushing, pulling, heavy grasping, and operations for foot controls with occasional crawling, overhead reaching, driving, and fine hand function manipulations.
- Work includes climbing stairs and ladders continuously throughout the day.
- Position involves periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, and sometimes walking in rugged terrain.
- Outside work is exposed to elements, high heat and humidity during the 7 days per week and 12 hours per day shifts.
- Environmental factors include exposure to weather, protected and unprotected heights, fumes and dust, and loud noise. Personal fall protection arrest system (harness lifeline) is required with unprotected heights.
- Position requires hard manual labor, such as shoveling and sweeping.
- Must have adequate hearing and speech to communicate effectively with co-workers and others by telephone, two-way radio, and in-person.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed primarily outdoors, in high noise, high and low temperature areas with some exposure to environmental stress.
- Work is performed out of doors in all weather conditions and uneven terrain.
- Proper personal protective equipment must be worn for all work duties.
- Shift work, overtime, and on-call status may be required
