NTA Driveshaft is seeking an EHS Specialist for our facility in Carol Stream, IL.

Come be a part of a company that keeps Industries in motion!  NTN Precision Axle, is a subsidiary of NTN USA.  We are searching for an EHS Specialist to support the Safety and Environmental responsibilities at our Carol Stream, Facility.  NTN is the leading manufacturer of bearings and constant velocity joints in the world!  Our businesses manufacture and distribute driveshaft components for vehicles from personal cars to heavy commercial equipment.

So, what will you be doing as an EHS Specialist?

  • Program Implementation and Maintenance: Support the implementation and maintenance of EHS programs, including but not limited to hazard communication, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, fall protection, confined space entry, emergency response, and environmental compliance.
  • The Safety Specialist will work closely with Plant Management and Corporate EHS to help implement and coordinate corporate programs. Approximately 80% of this person’s time will be spent on Safety initiatives and 20% on Environmental. The Carol Stream IL facility spans approximately 250,000 square feet and employs around 200 team members.
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment: Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and risk analyses to identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate control measures.
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, determine root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Training and Communication: Develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees on various safety topics, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Emergency Preparedness and Response: Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and conduct drills and exercises.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and report EHS data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and identify trends to drive continuous improvement.

 

 

 

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 5+ years of experience in EHS, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Experience in conducting hazard assessments, risk analyses, and incident investigations.
  • Strong understanding of EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills. Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • May require occasional work in outdoor or elevated locations. Must be able to wear PPE as required.
