Neurology Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant) chez Uintah Basin Healthcare

Job Summary

Performs direct patient care in a Clinic setting. This person will be working side by side with Dr. Buchanan, the Neurologist.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Conduct patient histories, physical exams, and neurological assessments

• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic neurological conditions (e.g., epilepsy, stroke, Parkinson's headaches, neuropathies).   

• Order and interpret Diagnostic tests including labs, imaging, and EEGs.

• Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management, therapy referrals, and patient education

• Assist Neurologist with procedures as needed (e.g., lumbar puncture, EMG/NCS). 

• Provide Follow up care and monitor patient progress

• Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education

Professional Requirements 

• Ensures that appearance and personal conduct are professional at all times.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Wears appropriate clothing for job functions. Wears ID badge.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with Physicians, Administration, and Staff.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team based environment 
• Represents the organization positively and professionally in the community.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
• Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.

Regulatory Requirements:

• Licensed in the State of Utah as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) 
• Certification in Neurology or relevant Clinical experience
• Minimum of two years Neurology experience preferred 
• Current BCLS, ACLS certifications.
