Direct Sales Manager
Responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations across DTC sales channels, including customer service, and fulfillment functions, supporting both on-site and off-site business activities. Ensures smooth coordination between departments, accurate financial processing, and exceptional customer experience.
Responsibilities:
Oversee three revenue streams (Outbound, Inbound, and Wine Club) including leadership of an eight-member team and management of associated logistics
Partners with Human Resources and the Director of Consumer Sales & Hospitality to provide effective leadership, guidance, and performance management for direct reports
Supervision of on-site inventory and wine ordering, wine movements, transfers, volume forecasting, shipping, compliance support
Collaborate with the finance team to manage inventory transfers and resolve variances
Lead forecasting initiatives and contribute to vintage roll planning and strategy
Oversee club shipment setup, including creating and managing quarterly packages for all wine clubs
Troubleshoot and resolve daily shipping and system issues across multiple platforms, including Commerce7, Stripe, WineDirect, Wine Services Coop, CellarPass, UPS, and FedEx. Work with marketing to ensure products are set up for compliance, shipping, selling in systems and locations
Coordinate with Marketing on RedChirp campaigns, including scheduling and building micro-campaigns
Create targeted lists for marketing and sales campaigns across email, text, and phone channels
Supervise customer service teams handling offsite sales and order fulfillment
Oversee Will Call order shipping and reservation management
Handle financial processes including expense coding, variance review, and vendor credits (WineDirect and others)
Track and resolve issues related to returned or damaged packages, declined payments, and data discrepancies
Assist with promotions, coupon setup, and wholesale or special project initiatives (e.g., Employee Allocations, Premier Napa Valley, Gift Sets, Family Requests)
Provide visitor center support as needed, including front desk coverage
Communicate operational processes, policies, and updates across teams
Lead data cleanup and maintenance projects to ensure system accuracy
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in sales operations, business operations, or related role; experience in the wine or hospitality industry essential
Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and supporting sales, fulfillment, and customer service functions
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify process improvements
Proficient in CRM, POS, and eCommerce platforms (e.g., Commerce7, WineDirect, Stripe, RedChirp, CellarPass)
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-departmental collaboration
Ability to lead, mentor, and develop team members
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace; advanced Excel skills preferred
Ability to work on-site with occasional weekend or event coverage as needed
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with shipment logistics when necessary

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Operate a desktop computer using keyboard and mouse, employing repetitive arm and wrist motions
Lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Ability to work in different exposures: indoor, outdoor, hot, cold, wet or dry
Ability to work while standing on different surfaces: cement, blacktop, gravel and dirt

Job Type: Full-time/Exempt
Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base pay scale offered for this position is $65,000-75,000/annually and includes bonus potential. This salary range represents what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. However, the actual pay rate will depend upon job-related factors such as overall qualifications, skills, experience, education, etc. The Company reserves the right to modify the range at any time.
