JOB TITLE: Director of Coaching for Transformation
DEPARTMENT: Athletics Department
REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
We are seeking a visionary and strategic leader to serve as the Director of Coaching for Transformation. This role is responsible for mentoring schools, developing faith-integrated sport practices, and fostering meaningful relationships with partner schools. The Director will also spearhead the development of coaching certifications, create innovative online platforms, expand the program strategically by adding new schools each year, and organize key conferences for Athletic Directors and Coaches. The ideal candidate will have a passion for community transformation through faith and sport, strong leadership skills, and a vision for sustainable growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mentor and Coach Schools: Guide school staff and students in holistic development, fostering leadership, character, and faith-based growth.
- Develop Content and Certification Programs: Create and implement coaching certifications, training modules, and resources that align with faith and sport principles.
- Innovate with Online Platforms: Develop and maintain an online app or portal for coaching resources, training, and community engagement.
- Relationship Building: Deepen relationships with existing schools and strategically identify and onboard new schools each year to expand reach and impact.
- Faith-Integrated Sport Practices: Work with schools and coaches to embed faith-based values into sport and athletic programs.
- Conference Development: Plan, organize, and oversee conferences or retreats for Athletic Directors and Coaches to foster community, professional development, and shared vision.
- Strategic Growth: Lead efforts to add new partner schools annually, ensuring sustainable growth aligned with organizational goals.
- Program Evaluation: Regularly assess program effectiveness, gather feedback, and implement continuous improvements.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Partner with organizational leadership, stakeholders, and community leaders to promote the mission of transformation through sport.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- A clear understanding and commitment to the Reformed perspective and mission of Dordt University and ability to clearly articulate and communicate the mission effectively.
- Ability to express an active Christian commitment, which shall include identification with a local organized church that holds to beliefs that are consistent with the mission of the university.

- A bachelor’s degree is preferred in a relevant field (i.e., Sports Management, Physical Education, Ministry), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience as a coach or athletic administrator is preferred.
- Strong leadership qualities are essential for managing teams and fostering a positive athletic environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed to interact with student-athletes, coaches, and other stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills are required to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team is also essential.
- The ability to effectively address and resolve issues related to athletics is crucial.
- Marketing and social media experience is preferred.
