Outside Sales Representative

Location: Southeast Region - WV, VA, NC, SC, MS, AL, GA, FL

Compensation: $80k-$90k annual base salary plus commission

Take the next step in your career with AFC’s Commercial Team. Under the direction of the Commercial Director, the Commercial Sales Representative is responsible for servicing AFC’s Industrial customers in the Southeast region. The Southeast region is defined as:  West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. 


This position is remote- candidates are expected to live in or relocate to the region. Candidates must also have the ability to travel to AFC’s corporate headquarters in Lake in the Hills, IL. (35 miles NW of O’Hare International Airport) several times per year. 


What You'll Do

  • Achieves sales target for industrial MRO products: PTFE fabrics, PTFE/silicone belting, and pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes.
  • Provides consultation on a wide range of industrial applications. 
  • Actively prospects, develops, and closes new business.
  • Actively engages existing customers to ensure supplier expectations are met and determine growth potential. 
  • Performs active discovery (qualification) and adheres to the AFC selling system. 
  • Performs monthly check-ins with the Commercial Director and Industrial Business Unit Manager.
  • Performs regular sales analysis using BI. Identifies and acts on customer trends. 
  • Logs activities in CRM. 
  • Travel 50-75% for customer visits, trade shows,  etc. 
  • Home office 25-50%.  


What You'll Bring  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field (equivalent education/experience considered). 
  • Industrial experience, either at the manufacturing, distribution, or OEM level.
  • 5 years’ experience in a sales-related role. 
  • Proven ability to effectively manage a pipeline (prospect, engage, and close sales). 
  • Strong networking and communication skills (verbal and written). Concentration on building relationships at multiple levels.
  • Experience using CRM, BI, and LinkedIn.
  • Experience using MS Office Suite and Teams.
