Are you an experienced government relations professional ready to take on your next challenge? eBay is seeking a Senior Manager, UK Government Relations to join our team in Richmond, London. Reporting to the Director of UK Government Relations, you will play a pivotal role in crafting eBay’s engagement with the UK Government and key stakeholders.

This position sits within eBay’s broader EMEA Government Relations team and requires a background in government relations, policy, or advocacy work.

What You Will Accomplish

  • Analyse legislative and regulatory proposals, assess potential impacts on eBay’s business, and develop strategic advocacy plans targeting UK policymakers, regulators, and relevant institutions.

  • Participate in eBay seller recruitment activities and help execute seller advocacy campaigns in coordination with our internal Seller Advocacy team, ensuring the voice of our seller community is optimally represented.

  • Brief and advise UK and international senior leadership on political, legislative, and regulatory developments, providing clear, actionable insights.

  • Develop and lead proactive initiatives to positively develop public policy discussions about e-commerce and third-party marketplaces.

  • Build coalitions and leverage relationships with third-party collaborators, NGOs, and trade associations to support eBay’s advocacy objectives.

  • Partner cross-functionally with communications, policy, and business teams to align government relations strategies with company priorities.

  • Support and own the organization and delivery of events in collaboration with internal leaders  and external partners, including prioritizing event participation and representation opportunities.

What You Will Bring

We’re seeking a dynamic, hands-on professional — someone who combines strategic insight with a willingness to roll up their sleeves. You’ll thrive in both high-level policy discussions and day-to-day execution.

You should bring:

  • Policy expertise: Validated experience working on or closely with government, understanding how policy is built, and assessing its business implications. Experience within central or local government, a public affairs agency, NGO, or trade association is highly desirable.

  • Campaigning experience: Strong track record in campaigning for policy change or industry issues, ideally combining strategic planning with hands-on delivery.

  • Cross-sector versatility: Backgrounds spanning government, NGOs, or trade associations  and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes.

  • Commercial and strategic understanding: Ability to translate policy developments into business implications and advise internal teams accordingly.

  • Collaborative approach: Comfortable leading strategic projects while also engaging in practical tasks, such as coordinating events, preparing briefings, and prioritizing engagement opportunities.

  • Strong attention to detail: Consistent record of handling complex, detail oriented tasks while working others optimally both internally and externally.
