Machine Operator (Kiln Operator) - Day Shift 7A-7P chez Columbus Brick (a division of General Shale Brick)

Columbus Brick, a division of General Shale Brick, is seeking a Machine Operator (Kiln Operator) - Day Shift 7A-7P for our manufacturing facility in Columbus, MS. This position is hands-on in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Operation of both tunnel kilns and all dryers
• Monitor semi-automatic equipment
• Record information
• Respond to equipment alarms
• Shovel gravel
• Housekeeping

Applicants should possess and demonstrate the following skills:

• Schedule includes three (3) 12 hour shifts and one (1) 6 hour shift
• Great attendance
• Good communication skills
• Mechanical ability
• Ability to read and follow written instructions
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency and attention to detail
• Good health with no work restrictions (extreme hot/cold environments)
• Basic math skills (ability to read a tape measure)
• Reliable transportation
