Job Title:  Quality Supervisor

Department:   Quality 

Accountability:   This Position Reports to the Senior Quality Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Daily Supervision activities through:
    1. Supervision, mentoring, training, and workload management of direct reports
    2. Providing overall direction for execution of department-level objectives
    3. Managing communications within the department and across other departments
  • Collaborate with other departments to prevent and resolve customer complaints and internally discovered issues through:
    1. Applying effective techniques of root cause analysis and corrective action
    2. Monitoring effectiveness of implemented corrective and preventive actions
    3. Leading and/or participating in Quality improvement projects 
    4. Leading and/or participating in internal audits
  • Lower risk to the organization through:
    1. Identifying opportunities for improvement and initiating improvement projects
    2. Recommending appropriate design and specification changes to improve part manufacturability
    3. Ensuring all documentation and records are managed well according to internal, external, and regulatory requirements
    4. Reviewing documentation changes to ensure Quality requirements are met
    5. Ensuring Havis’ readiness for internal and external quality audits
  • Additional related requirements to include:
    1. Effectively communicate and reinforce Havis’ commitment to Quality
    2. Participate in and/or lead quality reporting activities
    3. Assist in managing calibrated equipment issuance and maintenance
    4. Perform or participate in supplier audits as needed
    5. Direct tasks executed within the Quality department as needed
    6. Create and maintain PPAP and other customer-required quality documents (FMEA, Control plan, Process flow diagrams, etc.)  to meet customer requirements
    7. Other requirements as assigned by leadership

 

 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 3-5 years experience in a Quality Engineer role or related position. 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong analytical skills in performing root cause analysis, investigation, and proposal of solutions
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and record keeping skills
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, production documents, and engineering drawings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to communicate professionally both inside and outside of the company by email and phone, working across all levels of the organization
  • Strong team player, comfortable working with design engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, sales, marketing, planning, and others as appropriate on a daily basis
  • Corrected 20/20 vision  
  • Familiarity with calipers, gauges, and related inspection equipment 
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English
  • Must be able to tolerate long periods of sitting and standing
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.
