We’re seeking a passionate coordinator to support and grow our health and wellness initiatives. May include but not limited to: personal training, group exercise, and Healthy Living programs.

 

In this role, you’ll be part coach, part program builder, part cheerleader, and always a champion for community well-being.

 

What You’ll Do

 

With the guidance and direction of the Senior Program Director, you will:

  • Plan, coordinate, market, and deliver health & wellness programs for youth, teen, adult, and specialty groups.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, evaluate, and support staff
  • Approve and ensure payroll is complete in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain all assigned facility program areas and equipment in a neat, clean and organized manner
  • Pursue partnerships with local physician’s offices, physical therapy clinics, cardiac rehab programs, etc. to create and sustain feeder systems to our programs.
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and positive environment for staff and members
  • Build relationships with members, helping them feel seen, supported, and motivated
  • Assist with events, workshops, and member engagement activities
  • Increase awareness and participation in Old Colony Y’s healthy living programs
  • Support administrative needs like scheduling, reporting, and communication
  • Model the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility
  • Other duties as assigned.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Related experience, including previous supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in fitness/exercise/well-being-related field preferred
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. current NCCA personal training certification, group exercise certifications, wellness coaching, etc.)
  • CPR/AED & First Aid certified, or willing to obtain
  • Confident in motivating others and building positive relationships
  • A collaborative leader who can inspire and coach a team
  • Organized, resourceful, and proactive
  • Passionate about helping people become the strongest version of themselves
  • Must be able to conduct fitness classes/training sessions; lift, push and pull heavy weights to demonstrate equipment and technique; and set up and break down equipment.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Part-time position (minimum of 17 and up to 25 hours/week)
  • Evenings/weekends as needed
  • Competitive pay based on experience & qualifications
