Job Title: Upper School Chaplain

Job Description

All Saints' Episcopal School is seeking a dedicated Chaplain to provide spiritual guidance, support, and leadership to students and the school community. The Chaplain will play a crucial role in nurturing the spiritual and ethical development of Upper School students and fostering a compassionate and inclusive environment. The primary function of the Chaplain at All Saints’ Episcopal School is to serve as the pastoral leader of one or more Divisions at the school: Upper School. The Chaplain will be one of three chaplains at the school and will be part of a team of Faculty and Counselors providing religious, social, emotional and wellness instructions for students. The Chaplain oversees and leads the worship services and formal academic religious instruction for the assigned divisions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily Chapel services for the assigned Division, including the Daily Office and weekly Eucharist celebrations, assisting other division Eucharist services.
  • Train acolytes and readers for the weekly Eucharist service.
  • Coordinate special services and events in collaboration with other chaplains, music instructors, and the Communications Director.
  • Plan special observances for the assigned Division and maintain regular prayer within the school community.
  • Offer Eucharist services or prayers at school events and collaborate with other chaplains during faculty in-service.
  • Act as a positive catalyst in promoting the spirit of Christ’s love within and beyond the school community.
  • Coordinate with the Service Learning Directors for service learning opportunities and class outreach projects.
  • Teach Religion, Ethics, Social and Emotional learning, and related topics in coordination with the Religion Department.
  • Participate in curriculum design for the Division and on wellness and social and emotional learning.
  • Attend various meetings and events as expected, including faculty meetings, in-service training, Religion Department Meetings, and conferences for professional development.
  • Attend team meetings and collaborate with counselors in identifying students in need.
  • Serve as part of the Upper School Leadership Team.

Qualifications


Qualifications:

  • Ordination as an Episcopal priest.
  • Strong understanding of Episcopal religious traditions and teachings.
  • Experience working with students, especially at the high school level.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming spiritual environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and parents.
