Position Summary:  Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Food and Nutrition Services the Grill Cook, Storekeeper, Porter, Cashier and Pantry position are responsible for completing all assigned duties in a safe, timely and sanitary manner.  Assignment include but are not limited to preparing food, stocking supplies, maintaining an organized clean work environment and following all food procurement policies and procedures.  
Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.  
  • Must be able to communicate, read and write English.  
  • Requires basic mathematical skills.
Experience:
  • Hospital Experience in an Acute Care or Long Term Care facility
  • Restaurant or Commercial Food Service experience preferred.  
Licenses and/or Certifications:
  • None


Job Specific Duties:

  • Assists Pantry position with catered food requests.  Deliver food to appropriate Conference room locations.
  • Obtains non-perishable supplies for the galleys.
  • Restocks reach-in freezers on a daily basis.
  • Stocks Nourishment Centers (weekends) with appropriate food and beverage supplies.  Wipes spills in refrigerator/freezers.  Records refrigerator/freezer temperatures while taking appropriate action when temperatures are not met.
  • Removes kitchen waste from kitchen and dining room as needed.  Operates trash compactor safely.
