The Assistant Store Manager is a key leadership role responsible for assisting the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with strong leadership abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to manage and motivate a team. The Assistant Store Manager is expected to contribute to a positive customer service environment, ensuring efficient operations and achieving sales goals. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing various store initiatives while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to company policies.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
- Supervise and train store associates, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking merchandise.
- Implement and maintain store standards for cleanliness, organization, and customer service.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel for reporting, analysis, and communication.
- Address and resolve customer inquiries and complaints, providing excellent customer service.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of store strategies to achieve sales targets.
- Demonstrate leadership by example, motivating and guiding the team to achieve goals.
- Handle administrative functions, including paperwork, filing, and other clerical works.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a retail or grocery environment.
- Working knowledge of store operations, including inventory management and customer service principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and employees.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in business administration or a related field.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a grocery store setting.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Familiarity with local and state health and safety regulations.
