Description

The Front-End Supervisor oversees daily activities of front-end operations in the grocery store. Responsible for supervising cashier staff, ensuring efficient checkout processes, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Supervision of Checkout Operations
- Oversees cashier activities to ensure efficient and accurate transactions.
- Monitors checkout lines to minimize wait times and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Addresses customer inquiries and resolves issues promptly.Works with Front End Manager to ensure appropriate staffing of checkout lanes.
- Trains new cashiers on checkout procedures, customer service standards, and product knowledge.
- In collaboration with the Front-End Manager, addresses disciplinary issues or performance concerns according to company policies.
- Ensures front end staff receive breaks.
Cash Handling and Security
- Works with Front End Manager in managing cash registers, including opening and closing procedures, balancing drawers, and performing cash drops.
- Enforces cash handling policies and security measures to prevent theft or fraud.
- Conducts regular cash audits and reconciles discrepancies.
Customer Service
- Greets customers and provides assistance as needed.
- Resolves customer complaints or escalates issues to the Front-End Manager or Store Leadership as necessary.
- Ensures a clean, organized, and welcoming checkout area.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensures safety protocols and sanitation standards are being follows.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, including food safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18.
- Previous experience in retail or grocery store environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Proficiency in cash handling and point-of-sale systems.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and inventory management practices.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
