Description
The Maintenance Manager leads a multi-skilled team to keep operations running safely and reliably in a heavy industrial environment. This role owns the uptime of production assets by planning, scheduling, and executing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems, including welding, machining, refractory work, carpentry, equipment repairs, and the installation, alignment, and balancing of new equipment. The manager coordinates closely with Operations to minimize downtime, responds quickly to breakdowns, and drives root-cause problem solving to prevent recurrence. Responsibilities include daily prioritization and work control, effective use of the CMMS for work orders and PM compliance, spare parts and contractor management, adherence to safety standards such as LOTO and hot work, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. The Maintenance Manager develops technicians through coaching and clear expectations, maintains on-call and shift coverage as needed, manages budgets, and reports performance using KPIs such as equipment availability, MTTR, and PM completion to ensure stable, predictable production.
