IT Helpdesk Technician - Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position provides general support of various software applications by applying specific knowledge to ensure effective and optimal use of current applications in collaboration with build teams and implementation/support teams. The position holder may participate in any phase of both large and small projects, maintaining accountability for the completion of assigned tasks, the operation of assigned system modules, and user understanding of such applications.
Reports to the IT/IS Supervisor.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education
- Associate degree in computer science, or related field preferred; Experience in related fields may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Certification
- A+, Net+, other industry basic certifications.
Minimum Work Experience/skills
- Ability to communicate with employees, physicians, patients, and administrative staff in a courteous and professional manner.
- Exceptional Customer service and follow up skills.
- Excellent computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office 365 products.
- Exceptional organizational and interpersonal and time management skills, proven problem solving and experience in providing confidential administrative support.
- Knowledge of clinical, healthcare information and/ or related field preferred.
POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Communication
- Facilitate timely and effective communication to departmental leadership regarding the status of work requests and work deliverables.
- Ensure communication with hospital staff regarding the status of their tickets.
- Coordinates with the proper personnel to provide timely and accurate information to staff.
- Ensure detailed documentation is produced and maintained in relation to helpdesk tickets.
- Ability to understand and resolve complex problems in a timely and effective manner using critical thinking skills.
- Ability to routinely manage workloads in a professional manner.
Helpdesk operations
- Help ensure coordination of EMR/IT resources.
- Provide information and assistance regarding improvements in EMR/IT documentation.
- Works with our partners at Renown and Barton Healthcare to ensure resolution of support requests.
- Regulate helpdesk ticket intake and assist in prioritizing or escalating as needed.
- Creates, manages, and assigns helpdesk tickets based on category or scope.
