Job Description

MA, MS, PhD

The Division of Social Science is continually seeking qualified applicants to teach courses in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Geography, and History.  Adjuncts generally teach introductory courses or courses for which the applicant has a particular specialty. Our Division does NOT teach courses in Social Work.

Responsibilities:

• Adjunct faculty are responsible for developing lectures, demonstrations, assignments, and enrichment activities to successfully deliver course content in their assigned course.
• Assist in developing syllabi for the courses they teach, sometimes aiding in the selection of textbooks.
• Maintain a strong interest in the pursuit of knowledge and sharing it with students and other scholars.
• Provide a Christian role model for students.
• Demonstrate excellence in teaching.

Education:

• Must have MA, MS, or higher degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the field of study.

• Candidates applying to teach classes above the introductory level must have a doctorate in the field of study or additional experience that makes the candidate an expert in the subject matter of that course.
