Thompson Palm Springs is currently recruiting for an experienced Assistant Director of Engineering to join the hotel’s Engineering team.

The Assistant Director of Engineering plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the physical infrastructure and systems. This position assists the Director of Engineering in overseeing the engineering and maintenance department, ensuring that the hotel's facilities are in optimal condition and that safety and environmental standards are met. Additional duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

·         Assist in managing and leading the engineering and maintenance team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure exceptional performance and development.

·         Collaborate with the Director of Engineering to set departmental goals, objectives, and performance metrics.

·         Oversee the maintenance and repair of the hotel's physical assets, including HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and other equipment.

·         Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure a high standard of cleanliness and safety.

·         Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing maintenance and renovation projects, ensuring minimal disruption to guest services.

·         Monitor project budgets, timelines, and quality to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

·         Implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs to extend the life of equipment and systems.

·         Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers to procure materials and services for maintenance and repairs.

·         Respond promptly to emergencies and ensure the safety of guests and staff during critical situations.

This is an exempt (salaried) role. The budgeted salary range for this position is $68,640 to $96,400 and eligible for quarterly earned incentives. This is the pay range for this position that Thompson Palm Springs reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors including experience and education.

·         A minimum of 4 years' building maintenance experience is required, with hotel experience preferred.

·         Strong leadership and team management skills.

·         Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.

·         Excellent project management and organizational skills.

·         Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues.

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
