Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, with over 3,300 attorneys and professional staff globally, continues to grow. We are looking for a dynamic Office Manager for our Boston Office to be on-site 4 days a week, working hand in hand with our Boston Director of Administration to oversee the day-to-day administrative and operational functions while playing a key role in while playing a key role in ad hoc, exciting projects related to office scale up, physical space and overall strategy.
This person will manage a team of 15 Assistants (and growing) within the location and ensure that office systems, processes, and procedures run smoothly and efficiently while supporting business operations with great HR support from our NY Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Office Management:
Supervise administrative staff and coordinate office activities to ensure efficiency.
Manage daily office operations, including facilities, supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships.
Ensure compliance with Firm policies, health and safety standards, and legal requirements.
Oversee maintenance and repair of office infrastructure.
Operations Management:
Develop, implement, and refine operational systems, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Coordinate cross-departmental projects and ensure timely execution of deliverables.
Support resource planning, scheduling, and logistics management.
Identify process gaps and implement improvements for workflow optimization.
Finance and Administration:
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and expense management.
Process invoices and coordinate with finance for accurate reporting.
Human Resources Support:
Assist with onboarding, staff scheduling, and general HR administration.
Maintain personnel records and support performance management processes.
Foster a positive and productive workplace culture.
Communication and Coordination:
Act as the main point of contact between the attorneys and professional staff.
Work in collaboration with our Director of Administration to prepare reports, presentations, and communications for internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinate meetings, events, and executive schedules.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3–5 years of experience in office management, operations, or administrative leadership.
Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with budgeting and process improvement.
Ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Salary Information
MA Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $175,000 at the time of posting.
The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
