Position Overview:
This role is responsible for providing day-to-day indirect tax services for clients across a variety of industries. You will collaborate with engagement teams, support clients directly, and ensure compliance and accuracy in all aspects of sales and use tax.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with engagement teams supporting a wide range of clients
- Assist clients and provide support to clients on various sales and use tax functions, compliance, and consulting matters
- Preparation, review, and filing of sales and use tax returns
- Analyze and reconcile data to support the sales and use tax compliance process
- Reconcile client’s internal sales and use tax general ledger accounts
- Log, research, and respond to client tax notices and inquiries
- Assist the team and leadership in implementing, upgrading, and maintaining tax technology tools used to support clients’ processes
- Prepare, review, and file client business registrations
- File refund claims, protests, and voluntary disclosures as required
- Implementation and support of procedural changes due to regulatory requirements
- Conduct research to remain current with legislative changes made to applicable tax laws
- Provide data and documentation for audit support
Qualifications Sought:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 0–2 years of state and local sales and use tax experience preferred. (Entry-level candidates with strong technical aptitude and interest in tax will be considered)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with tax applications and research tools (preferred)
- Knowledge of information relevant to tax filings
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical, research, and organizational abilities
- High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
- Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to work both independently and in team settings
- Ability to build and maintain strong internal and client relationships
- Must be able to work onsite at least 2 days per week in the Wayne, PA office, or as business needs require
- Willingness to work additional hours as needed and travel to local client sites
