Role:
The Youth Program Specialist/Instructor is responsible for delivering workforce readiness programming to youth ages 16–24 enrolled in the Pathways to Power program. Instructors guide cohorts through 4-week cycles of workforce skills training, resume development, digital literacy, and job prep using approved curriculum tools such as Illinois WorkNet and Casey Life Skills.

 

 

 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate in-person or virtual sessions 3 days per week across 4-week program cycles.

  • Implement daily lesson plans using the approved curriculum.

  • Track attendance, participation, and module completion for each participant.

  • Provide supportive, engaging, and trauma-informed instruction.

  • Support resume development, mock interviews, and job search skills.

  • Work closely with the Youth Specialist Coordinator to identify and resolve barriers to participation.

  • Contribute to cohort celebrations, job fairs, and career panels.

Qualifications


Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate or bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience in youth development or workforce programs.

  • 1–3 years of experience working with youth or teaching workforce/career prep content.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Illinois workNet & Casey Life Skills.

  • Experience using Google Docs, email, and online learning tools.

  • Ability to facilitate group discussions and one-on-one coaching.

  • Organized, empathetic, and enthusiastic about youth success.
