Job Title: Tax Supervisor, CPA
Department: Tax
Location: Century City, Remote or Hybrid
Successful candidates should have the following:
- 5+ years of tax and public accounting experience.
- 2+ years of reviewing/supervisory experience.
- Possess a broad understanding of Tax Law with specialized knowledge in a particular area(s) of partnerships, individual, corporate, taxation of pass-throughs, entities, estate and gift tax, investment advisory, and/or financial planning
- Ability to prepare working trial balance and year-end adjusting entries
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related fields
- CPA certification is required
- Excellent computer skills required in Excel, Word, and CCH Axcess
- Exceptional research skills and verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Outstanding leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills, fostering client and staff relationships
A day-in-the-life basic overview includes:
- Review and prepare complex individual, partnership, gift, estate, joint venture, and non-corporate entity tax returns, combined state tax returns, and tax compliance
- Manage and develop income tax and financial planning clients
- Work closely with tax partners and other tax staff on client management, practice development, and business development activities.
- Maintain active communication with clients to manage their expectations, ensure client satisfaction, ensure deadlines are met, and effectively lead change efforts.
- Consult, collaborate with, and service clients to make recommendations on business and process improvements and serve as a business adviser to the client.
- Supervise and help drive the success of multiple engagements in partnership and individual taxation.
- Ensure that year-end projections are accurately prepared, including detailed analysis and forecasting of financial data.
- Conduct thorough research on various tax issues to stay updated with current regulations and best practices.
- Dedicate time to mentor associates, providing guidance and support on tax-related matters to foster professional development.
- Continuously work on improving presentation skills, both oral and written, to communicate complex tax concepts and findings effectively.
