We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Network & Security, to join our IT organization. In this strategic leadership role, you will oversee our network and security infrastructure's design, implementation, and maintenance, reporting directly to the Director of IT Operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define our organization’s security strategy, establish robust policies, and ensure our infrastructure aligns with leading industry standards and compliance requirements.
As the Senior Manager, Network & Security, you will guide a team of skilled professionals, lead projects to mitigate cyber risks, and develop programs that secure data and critical systems across our organization. You will serve as a key technical authority and a proactive thought partner, helping us navigate the rapidly evolving world of cybersecurity.
How You Will Contribute
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive network and security roadmap in partnership with the Director of IT Operations.
- Provide thought leadership and guidance on network and security best practices, emerging threats, and industry trends.
- Oversee budget planning, resource allocation, and vendor relationships for network and security initiatives.
- Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network and security professionals, ensuring they have the tools and training needed for success.
- Foster a collaborative culture that emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Network & Security Architecture
- Design and refine network security architectures (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, Zero Trust models) that align with business goals.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of our network security infrastructure across on-premise and cloud environments.
- Monitoring & Analysis
- Oversee continuous monitoring of network traffic for security events, leveraging SIEM and other advanced tools.
- Track key performance metrics and perform regular audits to maintain compliance with security policies and standards.
- Incident Response & Risk Management
- Lead incident response activities for security breaches, managing investigations, containment, and remediation efforts.
- Conduct ongoing risk and vulnerability assessments to identify threats; develop mitigation strategies and track remediation activities.
- Policy & Compliance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and update security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant frameworks (SOC 2, NIST, ISO 27001) and regulations (SOX, GDPR, HIPAA), providing regular reports to leadership.
- Documentation & Communication
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of security policies, procedures, and network configurations.
- Communicate security risks, architectural decisions, and strategic plans to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Training & Development
- Provide ongoing training and support to IT staff, end-users, and other stakeholders on security best practices.
- Promote a culture of security awareness across the organization.
- Research & Development
- Stay current with the latest security trends, tools, and threat intelligence, driving continuous improvement in our security posture.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance network and information security.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in network security engineering or a related field, including 3+ years in a managerial or leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated success in designing and implementing security solutions for large, complex environments.
- Technical Expertise
- Extensive knowledge of network protocols, architectures, and security technologies (e.g., routing, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).
- Proven track record in managing and responding to security incidents and conducting forensic analysis.
- Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory compliance (SOX, GDPR, HIPAA).
- Hands-on experience with SIEM solutions, vulnerability scanners, DLP technologies, and cloud security services.
- Strong background in network design, hybrid environments, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Leadership & Soft Skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with executives, technical teams, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Effective project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team, driving accountability and delivering results.
Preferred Certifications
- CISSP, CISM, CEH, CCNP Security, or other relevant security certifications.
- Ongoing professional development in network and security preferred.
