Homeoffice Asst Director Tax chez Novant Health

Novant Health's Corporate Finance and Tax Department is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director Tax 📇 to join our growing team and make a lasting impact. As an Assistant Director, you will oversee the company’s tax compliance and reporting functions. You’ll collaborate with senior leadership, external advisors, and cross-functional teams to ensure robust tax governance and identify opportunities for efficiency and risk mitigation.

🏠 This is a Remote Position

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience: 8+ years of experience in tax management or supervisory role required,  ideally with exposure to multinational or large corporate environments.

Certifications/Licenses: CPA or JD; other licenses will be considered at management’s discretion

• Lead and manage corporate tax compliance, including direct for-profit (1120/1065) and indirect (sales, property, excise, W-9) tax functions, and unclaimed property compliance.
• Review and oversee preparation of tax returns, quarterly provisions, account reconciliations, and related calculations.
• Develop and mentor a team of tax professionals to ensure high-quality deliverables and professional growth.
• Manage relationships with tax authorities and internal/external auditors.
• Monitor and interpret changes in tax legislation and their implications for the company.
• Contribute to process improvement and technology initiatives within the tax function.
• Support strategic tax planning and advise leadership on business and operational initiatives.
